Pokémon Business Department
The Pokémon Business Department manages Pokémon TV animation series worldwide. Within the department resides the TV Production Section and the Licensing Section.
TV Production
The TV Production Section produces the Pokémon TV animation series, movies, and "Pokémon Sunday", a variety show introducing Pokémon information. The TV animation series started broadcasting in 1997 and a new episode is produced every week.
Movies are produced annually since 1998 for a theatrical release every summer.
Licensing
The Licensing Section is in charge of Pokémon's Japanese merchandising business, development, marketing and promotion. In addition, it manages all international merchandising rights and TV animation / movie sales.
